If there’s one thing I took away from this podcast it’s where you say “we let ourselves off the hook too easily”. In a world where we are being conditioned to “feel our feelings” and “ listen to our bodies”, this statement is profound and totally against the grain. Success doesn’t come from letting ourselves off the hook – success comes from pushing harder when you really don’t feel like it, not from making excuses and just “not feeling like it”. Doing the 8 week butt camp taught my kids that even on the days I didn’t feel like going for that 2nd cardio, mommy still went – coz she had a goal. They are too used to saying “I don’t feel like it” and we as parents are too quick to say “ok baby then don’t do it”……. when in actual fact we should be saying “nobody cares work harder sunshine”.
Yes! It’s important to connect with yourself, and know when you need to rest but that has somehow turned into people simply letting themselves off the hook all the time. We grow from doing the hard shit! Thank you so much for your insight, much appreciated xo
